This week has been absolutely crazy! So much to do, so little time! Let’s do a quick run down of all of my ingeniousness this week.
So many Video assignments
Zoolander-esque Video Assignment – 3 stars
A Letter to My 16 Year Old Self – 4 stars
Today it’s all about me – 2 stars
The Ultimate Destination – 3 stars
Little words, Big Meanings – 3 stars
This was by far my most time consuming thing to do this week!
BACK TO MANOIRPULATING
So glad my girls and I decided to do one final HOORAH for the agency. Looking forward to making some magic again. THE RETURN OF THE MANOIRPULATORS.
My favorite creation from this week:
THe 10 Comments!
This is my interview with the board of the agency Black, Bond, and Burtis. Oh yeah, I guess there is Groom too but we did not get that far in the interviewing process. I don’t like being grilled with questions.. Hopefully one day the media will hop off my case but for now, I’ll remain cooperative.
3 stars – Zoolander multiple Faces
For this assignment, I thought about myself and what kind of faces I tend to make on a day to day basis. This was pretty easy given that I have very unique facial expressions! I hope you enjoy.
I used photobooth to record my lovely facial expressions.
Daily Create #1 – An Inspirational Poster
For this daily create, I chose one of my favorite pictures of my dogs and added a quote that pertained to dogs and life, I then used the picture and edited it on PicMonkey to overlap the words to the picture.
Daily Create #2 – Tree Art
For this assignment, I chose a picture that I took in Arizona this past summer of “The Thinking Tree.” I had already thought of this photo as artsy so I decided to mirror image it using a photo software editor and then I did some contrast coloring to make it even more abstract.
Daily Create #3 - Talking to a Stranger
In this daily create, I wrote a little excerpt from a conversation I had with someone at the gym today asking about my workout routine!
4 stars – Dear 16 year old Me
For this assignment, I decided to cinematically write a letter to my 16 year old self. It was a different time back in my younger years and looking back I made a lot of mistakes but, hey, you live and learn right?
For this I used iMovie to record and edit my video.
2 stars – Today it’s all about me
As the name suggests, this is a video talking alllll about myself. Yep, that’s right it’s all about me and my likes about myself… perhaps even a confession.. shh… it’s top secret.
For this I used my agency laptop and recorded myself using recording tools such as photobooth. Hope you enjoy my bragging session.
As the name of the post suggests, I, Sylvia Stone, and my fellow MaNOIRpulators: Edie Waz, Margaret Pinualt, and Jewel James will be returning to make a debut once again! We are all very excited about this decision to reconnect and hope we can woo the DS106 world once again with our charm. Let’s be honest here, the digital world would not be the same without a group of strong minded women as part of it’s backbone. Can’t wait to tackle the world, the digital world that is, with my girls once again!
3 Stars – Dream Vacation
Obviously, every stylish, vivacious, and classy broad like me needs to go on crazy vacations every once in a blue moon. My personal dream destination would to be to get out of this crazy Chicago town and go West to somewhere warmer!
For this assignment, I used some pictures of LA through a google web engine search and used a youtube to mp3 converter to get the sound “California Gurls” by Katy Perry to overlap my pictures.
3 Stars – Words, Pictures, and a Story
I thought using some meaningless words would not get the point across properly until I started thinking about myself “WWSSD” aka what would Sylvia Stone do? Then I got to thinking about my girls, my maNOIRpulator girls and our shenanigans. So the words I picked were (1) Crazy (2) Men (3) Get (4) Murdered (5) When (6) They (7) Sleep! Then of course, my final touch was adding a logo for my crew, the MaNOIRpulators. I extracted my music of course from YouTube, I’m a write not a musician, don’t get your thoughts twisted there, Big Boy.
